ANXIETY THERAPY IN PETERBOROUGH & VIRTUALLY ACROSS ONTARIO

Your brain keeps turning maybes into emergencies.

You're replaying conversations, preparing for every possible outcome, and trying to think your way out of feeling anxious. Even when nothing is technically wrong, switching off can feel impossible.

When overthinking becomes your default setting.

Anxiety doesn't always look like panic attacks or obvious worry. Sometimes it looks like being overly prepared, needing reassurance, avoiding things that make you uncomfortable, or spending hours trying to make the right decision.

Maybe you:

  • Replay conversations and wonder if you said the wrong thing.

  • Imagine everything that could go wrong before you've even started.

  • Need reassurance, but still find yourself doubting things afterwards.

  • Avoid situations because the uncertainty feels unbearable.

  • Feel physically tense, restless, or on edge without knowing why.

  • Struggle to be present because your mind is already somewhere else.

When anxiety takes over, it can feel like you need to think through every possibility, find the perfect answer, or make sure nothing goes wrong before you can relax.

The problem is that the more you try to get certainty, the more exhausting life can become.

Therapy gives us space to understand how anxiety shows up for you, what tends to trigger it, and what keeps the cycle going. Together, we can explore ways to handle uncertainty, respond differently to anxious thoughts, and approach situations you might have been avoiding.

The goal isn't to never feel anxious again. It's to build a different relationship with anxiety, so it has less control over what you do.

What we can work on together

What is therapy for anxiety like?

You don't need to arrive with a perfectly explained problem or a list of goals.

We'll start by understanding what anxiety looks like in your life. That might mean talking through the situations that leave you feeling overwhelmed, noticing the thoughts and behaviours that follow, or exploring where certain patterns may have come from.

My approach is collaborative, person-centred, and trauma-informed. We'll work together to understand what's happening and identify strategies that make sense for your experiences and goals.

A few questions you might have

You don't have to keep living in your head.

If anxiety is taking up more space than you'd like, we can work together to understand it and find a way forward.
