INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS IN PETERBOROUGH & VIRTUALLY ACROSS ONTARIO
You can be doing everything you're supposed to do and still feel stuck.
You're showing up for everyone, keeping life moving, and doing what needs to be done. But maybe you're exhausted, feeling stuck, or wondering when you'll have time to focus on yourself. Therapy can help you make sense of what's going on and figure out what needs to change.
Life looks fine on paper. So why doesn't it feel that way?
It's possible to be capable, responsible, and good at keeping things together while still struggling internally.
Maybe you've gotten so used to meeting expectations that you've stopped asking yourself what you need. Maybe you know the patterns that aren't working but find yourself repeating them anyway.
You might recognize yourself in some of these:
You spend a lot of time worrying, overthinking, or second-guessing yourself.
You're the person everyone relies on, but you struggle to ask for support yourself.
You feel guilty when you rest or take time for things that are just for you.
You have a hard time setting boundaries without worrying about disappointing someone.
You're navigating a relationship change, career shift, or another transition that has left you questioning what's next.
You feel more irritable, overwhelmed, or disconnected than you used to.
You keep thinking you should be happier, more confident, or further along by now.
You can appreciate what you have and still want something to change. Both things can be true.
Understanding yourself is a good place to start.
It's easy to focus on the things you want to change: the anxiety, the overthinking, the way you react under pressure, or the difficulty saying no.
But those patterns usually have a context. They may have helped you navigate relationships, expectations, or difficult experiences at some point in your life, even if they're no longer serving you in the same way.
In therapy, we'll explore what's happening beneath the surface. We'll look at where certain patterns show up, what keeps them going, and what you might need to feel differently moving forward.
This isn't about becoming a completely different person or fixing everything you think is wrong with you. It's about understanding yourself better and making choices that feel more aligned with who you are and the life you want to build.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IN PETERBOROUGH & VIRTUALLY ACROSS ONTARIO
What we can work on together
-
When worry, self-doubt, or the need to anticipate every possible outcome makes it difficult to feel present.
-
When you're exhausted from meeting everyone's expectations, struggling to say no, or feeling guilty about putting yourself first.
-
When you find yourself repeating familiar patterns, avoiding difficult conversations, or struggling to communicate what you need.
-
When your sense of value depends on productivity, achievement, approval, or how well you meet other people's expectations.
-
When frustration builds quickly, emotions feel difficult to manage, or you find yourself reacting in ways you later regret.
-
When you're navigating change, questioning what you want, or trying to work out what the next chapter of your life should look like.
What is therapy like with me?
Therapy is a place where you can be honest about what's going on, including the things you haven't quite known how to explain to anyone else.
My approach is relational, person-centred, and trauma-informed. That means our work is collaborative, grounded in your experiences, and shaped around what matters to you.
We'll take time to understand the bigger picture, explore patterns that keep coming up, and identify what you want to be different. I'll offer questions, reflections, and strategies when they're helpful, while making space for you to figure things out in your own way.
You don't have to show up with a list of goals or know exactly what you need. We can work that out together.
A few questions you might have
-
That's a perfectly reasonable place to start. You might just know that you're tired, feeling stuck, or not responding to things the way you'd like to. We can explore what's happening together.
-
No. Therapy can be helpful when you're struggling with a specific challenge, navigating a transition, or simply wanting to understand yourself and your patterns better.
-
Understanding something intellectually doesn't always make it easy to change. Therapy can give you space to explore why a pattern continues, how it affects you, and what might help you respond differently.

You get to make space for yourself, too.
You spend a lot of time navigating life, meeting expectations, and figuring things out. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of where you are, and work toward a life that feels more like your own.
